The Beatitudes^(A)

vAnd seeing the multitudes, ^(B)He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. ²Then He opened His rima oris and ^(C)taught them, maxim:

³ "Blest ^(D) are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
^{4 (E)} Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
^{5 (F)} Blessed are the meek,
For ^(G) they shall inherit the ^[a] world.
⁶ Blessed are those who ^(H) hunger and thirst for righteousness,
^(I) For they shall be filled.
⁷ Blessed are the merciful,
^(J) For they shall obtain mercy.
^{viii (K)} Blest are the pure in heart,
For ⁽⁵⁰⁾ they shall see God.
^ix Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
^{10 (M)} Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

^{11 (North)} Blessed are you lot when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of ^(O) evil against y'all falsely for My sake. ^{12 (P)} Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for neat is your reward in heaven, for ^(Q) so they persecuted the prophets who were earlier y'all.

Believers Are Salt and Light^(R)

¹³ "You are the salt of the world; ^(South) but if the salt loses its season, how shall it exist seasoned? It is and so good for nothing but to exist thrown out and trampled underfoot past men.

^{14 (T)} "You are the lite of the world. A metropolis that is attack a hill cannot be subconscious. ¹⁵ Nor practice they ^(U) light a lamp and put it under a handbasket, but on a lampstand, and it gives calorie-free to all who are in the firm. ^xvi Let your low-cal and then shine before men, ⁽⁵⁾ that they may run into your good works and ^(W) glorify your Male parent in sky.

Christ Fulfills the Law

^{17 (10)} "Do not call back that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. ¹⁸ For convincingly, I say to yous, ^(Y) till heaven and globe laissez passer abroad, one ^[b] jot or one ^[c] tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. ^{19 (Z)} Whoever therefore breaks i of the to the lowest degree of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. ^xx For I say to y'all, that unless your righteousness exceeds ^(AA) the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you lot will by no ways enter the kingdom of sky.

Murder Begins in the Heart^(AB)

²¹ "You lot have heard that it was said to those ^[d] of former, ^{(Air-conditioning)} 'You shall non murder, and whoever murders volition be in danger of the judgment.' ²² But I say to you that ^(Ad) whoever is angry with his brother ^[east] without a cause shall exist in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his blood brother, ^(AE) 'Raca!' ^[f] shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ^{[one thousand]} 'You lot fool!' shall be in danger of ^[h] hell fire. ²³ Therefore ^(AF) if you bring your gift to the chantry, and there recollect that your blood brother has something against you, ^{24 (AG)} get out your gift in that location before the altar, and go your way. Offset exist reconciled to your brother, and so come and offer your gift. ^{25 (AH)} Agree with your antagonist quickly, ^(AI) while you lot are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver y'all to the judge, the estimate hand you over to the officer, and you lot be thrown into prison. ²⁶ Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means become out of there till you lot have paid the final penny.

Adultery in the Center

²⁷ "You have heard that information technology was said ^[i] to those of old, ^(AJ) 'You shall not commit adultery.' ²⁸ But I say to you lot that whoever ^(AK) looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. ^{29 (AL)} If your right eye causes you to ^[j] sin, ^(AM) pluck it out and cast it from y'all; for it is more assisting for you that ane of your members perish, than for your whole trunk to be cast into hell. ³⁰ And if your right hand causes you to ^[k] sin, cut information technology off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for y'all that one of your members perish, than for your whole torso to be cast into hell.

Marriage Is Sacred and Bounden^(AN)

³¹ "Furthermore it has been said, ^(AO) 'Whoever divorces his married woman, permit him requite her a certificate of divorce.' ³² But I say to you that ^(AP) whoever divorces his wife for any reason except ^[l] sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a adult female who is divorced commits adultery.

Jesus Forbids Oaths

³³ "Again yous have heard that ^(AQ) it was said to those of ^[m] old, ^(AR) 'Y'all shall not swear falsely, but ^{(Every bit)} shall perform your oaths to the Lord.' ³⁴ But I say to y'all, ^(AT) practise not swear at all: neither past sky, for it is ^(AU) God's throne; ³⁵ nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor past Jerusalem, for it is the city of ^(AV) the great King. ³⁶ Nor shall you lot swear by your head, because you cannot brand i hair white or black. ^{37 (AW)} But let ^[northward] your 'Yes' exist 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.' For any is more these is from the evil one.

Get the Second Mile^(AX)

³⁸ "You accept heard that it was said, ^(AY) 'An eye for an heart and a tooth for a tooth.' ^{39 (AZ)} But I tell y'all non to resist an evil person. ^(BA) Merely whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him too. ⁴⁰ If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, allow him take your cloak also. ⁴¹ And whoever ^(BB) compels you to go one mile, go with him ii. ⁴² Requite to him who asks y'all, and ^(BC) from him who wants to borrow from you lot do not turn away.

Beloved Your Enemies^(BD)

⁴³ "Y'all have heard that information technology was said, ^(Be) 'Y'all shall love your neighbor ^(BF) and hate your enemy.' ^{44 [o]} But I say to yous, ^(BG) beloved your enemies, bless those who curse you lot, ^(BH) exercise good to those who hate yous, and pray ^(BI) for those who spitefully utilize you and persecute y'all, ⁴⁵ that you may be sons of your Male parent in sky; for ^(BJ) He makes His sun ascent on the evil and on the skilful, and sends rain on the but and on the unjust. ^{46 (BK)} For if yous love those who honey you, what reward have you? Do not even the revenue enhancement collectors do the aforementioned? ⁴⁷ And if you lot greet your ^[p] brethren simply, what do you practice more than others? Exercise not even the ^[q] revenue enhancement collectors practise and so? ^{48 (BL)} Therefore you shall exist perfect, only ^(BM) every bit your Father in heaven is perfect.
